Men’s Body Hair Do’s and Don’ts

Ah, the age old fight between women’s opinions. Hair or no hair? This personal preference that we have often differs, making it hard on men to decide whether to ditch it or grow it. Body hair do’s and don’ts have been discussed for ages and is hardly ever agreed upon by either sex. However, there are some good ways to meet in the middle if you don’t know what is right or wrong when it comes to your own body hair.

DO- Trim the bottom forest. Listen, most women do not enjoy giving head. Some just flat out won’t do it. We are here to tell you that a trimmed and clean genital area helps ease this task DRAMATICALLY! Shaving can often cause chaffing and itching in men and if a wax feels too unmanly for you, trimming will do. Using a sharp and professional pair of scissors from a beauty store will help you get the job done.

DON’T- Let the chest or back hairs grow. If you’re among the men who have mild growth on your chest and back, it may not be a problem. Making sure it isn’t patchy is the only thing you have to worry about. Now, if you look like half man and half gorilla when you’re at the beach, then you may want to rethink letting it stay. It’s common for men to get waxes in these areas these days and it’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of.  A hairy chest and back has many downfalls such as:

  • Getting in the way
  • Sweating and becoming smelly
  • Turning off every woman in sight

Unless she is on the rare side that prefers male body hair, you’ll be out of luck until you take a trip to the spa. If it’s thick, we recommend not shaving at home yourself. Let a professional handle the mess.  It will last a lot longer and look a lot better.

DO- Keep it where it’s manly. A man who is completely hairless may raise some eyebrows. Why is he so smooth? Where did all of it go? Keeping your body hair in the appropriate places isn’t a bad thing; it’ll prove you still are just as manly as the dude next to you. Your armpits and legs can go without a waxing or shaving, that’s for sure. Those areas are not going to turn off any woman but trimming may be beneficial. If the growth is overwhelming it can be somewhat unattractive and also make you a lot hotter and sweatier. Trimming these areas up a bit can make you look more tightly groomed and cool you off.

DON’T- Wax yourself. If you think you’ll save some money by waxing at home, you’re WRONG! Most women don’t even do this at home because of the awful things that can go wrong. Take it from someone who’s tried a do-it-yourself kit- IT SUCKS! It’s painful and if not done right it can lead to bleeding, rashes, and patches. Much like a GIANT BAND-AID being pulled across your skin, waxing is not pleasant. Being in a professional environment with some soothing music and cooling after aides will help the process feel a lot more acceptable than at home.

These body hair do’s and don’ts will not only help you attract more women but will ease some pain and make you look and feel better too. Keeping well groomed body hair is healthier for you and will help you stay fresh and up to date.
